We Didn't Discover Ceylon Gems. We Were Born to Them.
The story of Sapphire Ceylona is the story of a family that has spent generations learning what the island's earth has to offer — and how to share it honestly.

Our Roots
From Ratnapura's Red Earth to Your Hands
Our story begins not in a showroom, but in the gem fields of Ratnapura — the City of Gems — where our grandfather first learned to read the earth. He was not a merchant in the formal sense. He was a tracker of colour, a student of rock formation, a man who believed that a beautiful stone deserved to be understood before it was sold. That belief became our inheritance.
The second generation brought formal gemological training and international certification into the family practice — marrying instinct with credential, tradition with transparency. By the time Sapphire Ceylona took its current form, we had something rare in this industry: decades of direct relationships with licensed mining families, a team of certified gemologists, and a workshop of artisan cutters whose skills had been refined across a combined century of practice. No auction house middlemen. No import brokers adding their margin and their ambiguity. Just the stone, its origin, and a family prepared to stand behind both.
Today, Sapphire Ceylona serves collectors from Geneva to Dubai, tourists discovering Ceylon's gem culture for the first time, and heritage-conscious buyers who simply want to know that what they're holding is exactly what they're told it is. We serve all three with the same unhurried attention — because in our experience, the question behind every purchase is always the same: can I trust this? Our answer, always, is: let us show you why you can.
Sapphire Ceylona offers certified, authentic Sri Lankan gemstones and handcrafted jewellery — connecting buyers to the island's legendary gem heritage with trust, beauty, and provenance.
